Say the Tamburello corner at Imola became one whole corner again, not a chicane, and was smoothened to Bahrain-levels of smoothness (so is the rest of the track).
Runoff stays the same, but the barrier will now be Tecpro barriers. Can today’s F1 cars and drivers take it? Will they?

No doubt, the drivers would take it as fast as the car could allow.

Even if a thought lurks at the back of their minds: “Ayrton Senna, a legend, my idol, died taking this corner.” Ultimate test, yeah.

Yes. A tenth is a tenth.
Besides, it would not be the corner that killed Senna.

They run around Daytona twice a year. I don’t think, when they are racing, Sr.’s accident there enter into their minds at all. They are too focused. Maybe after or before in one of the interviews but not during.
